TrimQ Privacy Policy
Effective: 24 July 2026
TrimQ helps customers view nearby barber shops and live queue estimates, and helps participating barbers manage their shop details, services, and queue. This policy explains the data handled by the TrimQ app and website.
Data we handle
- Barber account data: Google sign-in identifier, name, email address, and, for some earlier accounts, a phone number.
- Shop data: shop name, location, open status, queue counts, staffing and service-time settings, services and prices, and an optional shop cover photo. Shop details intended for customer discovery are visible to TrimQ users.
- Location: customers can allow precise device location to sort nearby shops and show routes. Customer location is not attached to a TrimQ account or stored in TrimQ's shop database. A barber-selected shop location is stored and displayed as part of the public shop listing.
- App activity and diagnostics: feature interactions, error and crash information, app version, device manufacturer and model, Android version, and shop identifiers needed to diagnose queue actions. TrimQ does not intentionally include names, email addresses, phone numbers, photos, passwords, or authentication tokens in diagnostics.
- Anonymous presence: a random app-session identifier and the shop being viewed are used briefly to calculate live viewer counts.
How we use data
We use data to authenticate barbers, create and display shop listings, calculate nearby shops and route estimates, operate live queues, show viewer counts, send optional local queue reminders, prevent abuse, fix errors, and improve reliability. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.
Service providers
TrimQ uses Google Firebase and Google Sign-In for authentication and database services, Sentry for crash reporting, and OpenStreetMap-based map and routing services. If you choose “Open in Google Maps,” location data is passed to Google Maps. These providers process data only as needed to provide their services and apply their own privacy terms.
Retention and deletion
Barber account and shop data is kept while the account is active. In-app account deletion removes the Firebase Authentication identity, user profile, owned shop and queue data, service list, settings, and uploaded shop photo. First-party diagnostic logs normally expire within seven days, and anonymous presence data expires from server memory within one hour. Service providers may retain limited security or backup records under their own retention rules or where required by law.
See Delete your TrimQ account for in-app steps and an email option if you cannot access the app.
Security
TrimQ uses encrypted network connections and authenticated access controls. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we limit collection and access to what is needed to operate the service.
Children
TrimQ is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as TrimQ changes. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are published. For privacy questions or requests, email pykancha@gmail.com.
